Simon Vumbaca operates at the intersection of governance and deal-making - boardrooms and start lines, Nasdaq filings and Formula 1 paddocks. He’s an independent lead director across NASDAQ and TSX boards, chairing compensation committees and sitting on audit and governance committees at two Nasdaq-listed companies, plus a major agribusiness group. As non-executive director of Sunderland AFC, he’s seen the club rise from League One to the Premier League and UEFA competition. A dual-qualified international lawyer, he’s represented Bahrain International Circuit in Formula 1 negotiations since 2010, delivered Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah F1 deal, and structured the first-ever Bahrain–Malaysia Formula 1 collaboration — with expertise spanning WEC, Formula E, MotoGP, elite basketball and other elite sports.
